Catching Up!

I can't believe it's been over a week since I updated my blog. It's not really heard of for me to go this long but I have not been feeling too well and I couldn't be bothered to sit and update. I have spent a lot of my time examining the insides of my eyelids! Anyway without further ado, as tomorrow is reveal day for the S&S biscornu exchange, I'm going to show the biscornu I stitched for Angi M ( no blog).

WDC Design WDC in Blue ( From The Gift of Stitching)

Stiched on 28 count white evenweave

DMC threads.

Just over a week ago I received a lovely package in the post from Dani. A while ago I won a giveaway on her blog and look at this gorgeous piece she stitched for me. It is perfect for me as I love red plus, as you can see, my Gingher scissors are red.

And here are the other things she included for me:) and you can also see the other side of the fob with my initial. The JCS ornament preview issue ( which I had been waiting to get my hands on but being in England we have a bit longer wait for so I had to wait no longer!) and some skeins of GAST. Thank you so much Dani! {{{{hugs}}}} You really spoilt me:)

I have been doing some stitching but not as much as I would normally do so I do have some updates to show. I think the most I did this week was on Blackbird Designs Rites of Spring on Sunday. I love how this is coming along and hope I will feel something like to get a lot done tomorrow evening.

Monday was, as always, my evening on Bygone Stitches A Quaker Christmas but I didn't do much on it this time but every little bit is a bit more towards the end! I am amazed at how quickly I am stitching this up and if I keep it up I see no reason why I shouldn't have it finished in time for Christmas.

I was hoping to get more done on HAED TT Letter J this week and be a lot closer to finishing page 1 but things don't always go to plan. Not to worry as there's always another week!

I can't show what else I've been stitching as I've been working on the S&S SAL Challenge which this month is Debbie Draper's Love. I have finished stitching it and made it up but can't show it until reveal day which is 27th July so not long to go! I've tried another new to me finishing technique this time and am quite pleased with the result.

I think I might put part of my rotation on hold for a bit and concentrate on getting my exchanges stitched. Feeling the way I have over the last week has made me think a lot and I just want to get my exchanges stitched and made up so that they can done in plenty of time and ready to send out when needs be. I'd also like to stitch some small bits for a change. I will stick to my BBD, Quaker Christmas, TT and Sea Stars on their alloted evenings and QC for the week probably.

We were supposed to be going to Burton Constable Country Fair last Sunday but I felt too ill so we ended up staying home. Wednesday DH and I went to Driffield Show ( minus the girls as Abi had an activities day at school and Jess a biology field trip to Robin Hood's Bay). We had a pleasant day looking round the stalls, watching displays, etc but I started to feel ill halfway through the day. We went to the car for a bit and I got a second lease of life! Lol! I just feel that the way I am at the moment is playing havoc with my every day life and I am fed-up. I have been so tearful and feeling quite angry. I did manage an evening out last night as it's the annual carnival here ( it was cancelled last year due to flooding) so we went to watch the wing walkers last night ( how on earth do they pluck up the courage to do something like that) and then watched the firework display later on in the evening.

Thank you so much for all your well wishes and hugs for Abi. She had her blood done on Tuesday and was so brave. She was really scared but she did really well. No tears:) Anyway all her tests were fine so we think it's just a case of getting plenty of rest over the holidays ( they finish Tuesday lunchtime). It has been a long term so we think she's just tired. Obviously we'll be keeping an eye on her.

I have been trying to keep up with blogs a bit and Jess kindly leant me her laptop on Thursday evening and I read and commented on quite a lot but I am still way behind. I promise I will get round to you all eventually to see what you've been stitching and stashing:) Thank you for your lovely comment Michele B.

Hugs

Sally, that's a gorgeous biscornu you've stitched for Angi. I do subscribe to The Gift of Stitching and when I saw them, I thought they were pretty but your picture does em way more justice.

Love seeing your WiPs too. Look forward to more updates, especially Rites of Spring.

Sorry you haven't been feeling too well Sally, I hope you feel better soon!

Lovely progress on RoS - I started this the day of the Wimbledon Men's Final and haven't put a stitch in since! Must pull it out again.

QC is looking fabulous too, you're really stitching it up quickly.

How sweet of Dani, the things she sent are great. I love the things you are working on, BBD LFs for this year are in my stash but will have to wait for a start, I have only been looking at the Quaker Christmas from afar. Yours is so beautiful it makes me think it may need to come home with me too. Hope you get stronger soon, Happy Stitching, CJ

That's great Abi's blood tests turned out well. Hopefully she can get some extra rest in and be feeling totally better soon. I'm so sorry to hear that you've been feeling unwell though. I hope that you start to feel better soon too.

You've been getting lots of lovely stitching done though it looks like. Nice progress on your WIP's, and your biscornu is lovely. Beautiful present from Dani as well, sounds like just what you needed to help lift your spirits.

Lovely biscornu Sally and all your WIP's are looking great. That's a really lovely giveaway prize from Dani, love the scissor fob.

Sorry you've not been well, hope you are feeling much better now. I also hope that a good rest over the holidays will sort Abi out. I, too, hate having blood tests and have to have them every six months, so I know how she felt about that.
