Catching Up! ( Picture Heavy)

Hello! I'm hoping you'll still be with me seen as I've disappeared again. I decided I'm going to catch up today and then, hopefully, blog more regularly. I think what has been putting me off has been I'm so far behind showing my finishes so this post is going to be picture heavy I'm afraid with those and my WIPs!

So let's get started with my WIPs. As you know I am doing a few SALs so first of all this is my sheep SAL with Barb. It is Plum Street Samplers Kringle and Woolard which I'm stitching on 40 count vintage country mocha.

Another SAL is a Lizzie Kate with Barb and Sue. I have just finished Snow Belles ( see photo further down post!) so I have just started Home is the Nicest Word There Is. I am going to have to frog the E in The and the word Nicest as it's all too high up.

Barb, Sue and I are also stitching on LHN Farmhouse Christmas still but we are on the last one now. I have enjoyed stitching these but I think I am ready for something different.

Sue and I are stitching Silver Creek Samplers My Christmas List. I am loving stitching this and hoping to finish it for Christmas and on the wall. Fingers crossed!

I am still stitching on the Dessine Par Elke Christmas SAL but I forgot to take a photo! I can't show my last WIP as it for an ornament exchange so no peeking at that one until it is finished and received.

As you all know we commemorated 100 years since the end of WW1 on Sunday. I made a wreath to put in my window but I don't know what I did with my photo so I'll show that next time! However I do have to show a beautiful glass plaque that was a gift from my dearest friend Barb made by her DH Martin. It brought tears to my eyes when I saw it and I will treasure it always. It is in memory of my paternal grandad's cousin who DOW at the Battle of Arras in May 1917.
Here are a few photos from our town to commemorate 100 years.

On Instagram there has been a stitchy wish list tag going round for a while and I popped my wish list up. A few weeks ago I received a lovely message from Jen @spooneriestitcher saying she could grant one of my wishes and it arrived recently. Not only did she send me the chart she also sent some DMC to stitch it with. This is going to be my New Year's Day start! Thank you Jen :)

So onto my finishes now and I actually think I will just let the photos do the talking!

Thank you for reading and looking at my photos. I know there are a lot but now I am caught up!

Until next time. With much love.

A Lovely Package and a Finish!

I received a lovely prize package from Robin this week:) She well and truly spoilt me with everything and it well and truly made my week. Just look at the lovelies she sent! I amost lost the cute pincushion as Abi took a liking to it! Thank you so much Robin. I LOVE everything!

This week I had another finish and that was Little House Needleworks Needle and Thread. I absolutely loved stitching this. I love the verse, the colours, everything! I took a piccie of it before I stitched it onto the Impie Hattie and Bea scissor bed too.

Time now for my weekly WIPs. I do hope you're not getting sick of seing Shores yet! It's going to be a long process stitching this and block 3 seems to be taking forever!! I'm afraid the mermaid has no water to swim in yet so I hope she'll be Ok! Lol!

Last week I started Dragon Dreams The Lost Dragon Sampler. I am stitching this over one on 25 count fabric so I'm having to adapt it a little. I want to make it into a bookmark.
I have done almost half of one side of the Sampler Garden Casket. I do love this piece. It's so pretty with few colours.

Finally just to prove that I have been stitching on Chatelaine Spring Morning here's a picture! I haven't been managing my 10 stitches a day this last week but I will get back to it next week when everything settles down again.

Today is the start of our SAL! Barb, Hazel, Tracy, Lesleyanne and I are stitching The Sampler Girl At Home with Jane Austen. I have been looking forward to this and have made a small start on it but no picture yet. I'll take one for my next post!
Well that's all for now. Thank you for continuing to visit my blog and for all your lovely comments. I love your visits and reading your comments. Makes blogging worthwhile:)

Take care everyone.

Building a House

Yes that's what I've been doing! Building a house on my CSH Shores of Hawk Run Hollow! I absolutely love block 3 and although there is a lot of stitching in this block I'm not phased by it at all and am really enjoying it. I would love this to be my house!

As I mentioned in my last post I basted my fabric for Just a Thought Sampler Garden Casket and this is what I managed to stitch on Sunday and Monday. This will eventually be one of the casket ends.

Finally more progress on LHN Needle and Thread. I have actually done more on this since I took this picture and love it. It's so quick and easy as there are only a few colours.

I have been so lucky of late as I have won three blog giveaways. You may remember that first off I won Christine's giveaway, then the one Robin had on her blog and now I have won Susan's giveaway for a pair of gorgeous pink scissors! I am so excited by the prospect of receiving these gifts! Thank you so much to all three ladies. I will be having a giveaway of my own within the next month or so when I decide what it's going to be!

Finally thank you so much for all the lovely comments you left on my finishes in my last post! I do love your comments and treasure each and everyone of them.

Have wonderful Easter!

Ready For An Update?!

Guess what?! Yep I'm here with another blog post! I have been getting around to blogging since Thursday so I've given myself a good talking to to just get on with it! Lol! Plus I'm feeling much more like my old self so, hopefully, my posts may be more frequent:)

So what I have been up to stitchy wise? Well first off I've started and finished my She
pherd's Bush roll for October. Yes I know my last two month's worth did not get finished until the following month and here I am with October's finished in, well, October! So without further ado here's the final kit in my stash ( now onto charts).
Shepherd's Bush St Nicholas Roll kit

Started 4th October 2009

Finished 9th October 2009

I made several mistakes on this one and spent time frogging but I love it!

Next up is a wee finish for hubby's auntie. Those of you who have read my blog from the beginning may remember that I started stitching her a card for her birthday several years ago and she has become so used to it that if I didn't stitch one she's be very disappointed! This year I was a little late starting one so had to find something quick and came across this freebie from Praiseworthy Stitches in my stash and thought it would be ideal for an October birthday.

Praiseworthy Stitches Pumpkin Visitor.

Gentle Art Sampler Threads

Started and finished 11th October 2009.

Made into a card for Auntie Joan

Monday evening was Bea evening and I managed to start another motif but not finish it! It's progress though and I really want to get this finished before the end of the year so please spur me on! I have plans for a couple of new starts 1st January next year! Lol!
Next up is a little bit of progress on Lizzie*Kate Merry Christmas By The Letter. This is such a fun stitch and, of course, I'd like to finish this in time for Christmas and make it into a bell pull but it's coming a little bit faster than I want it to!

HAED Guardian is coming along quite nicely and I have almost finished another page! How I wish I could get more done on this but, even so, I must admit that I am quite happy with it:) I am hoping my 5th page will get finished this next week and then it'll be just 25 more to go!

So that's all my stitching finishes and progress for this post:) Hope you have enjoyed looking at them:)

Now I am sure you are itching to know about my planned new starts for the New Year! OK so anything could happen between now and 1st Jan but................. the girls on Stitch and Stash were spurred on to do a Just Nan SAL after
Julie posted her progress on my fave Just Nan piece
Lady Scarlett's Journey. They have decided to start this in January and I am going to join in. I haven't decided what with yet but it'll either be 4 Wishes or Memories as I have both of these in my stash. Will have to see if I have everything I need for them before I decide:) Also after I mentioned that I'd dyed some fabby for CHS Shores of Hawk Run Hollow ( have you seen the Christmas one by the way??? Gorgeous but too expensive for me- I got Shores on sale) Deb and Jane mentioned a SAL and as I love stitching along with others so we can spur each other on I said yes! Of course I need to get Blue Ribbon Designs Winter Wingding finished but it seems to have become a UFO:(

While I remember
I've reduced everything in my for sale blog ( link in my side bar) so please have a look and see if there's anything you're interested in:) Thank you:)

I almost forgot I have finally got Little House Needleworks Hen party made into a pinkeep! It's nothing fancy as I haven't been able to find anything nice to finish it with. By that I mean something like the berries that were on the top of the finish on the chart.

Poor Abi has been in the wars of late firstly with a gammy toe caused by a new nail growing, followed by a stye under her eyelid:( We are hoping both have cleared up now but her eye looks as though as though it's swelling up again so I hope it's not another stye coming.

As for Jess she has settled well, is enjoying her course and just generally loving university life:) She had a visit from one of her friends last Sunday and another friend is visiting tomorrow. She has also made new friends on her course which she is happy about as she had no chemistry friends within her block at the halls of residence although she gets on really well with them all in there:) At the moment she is suffering from Fresher's Flu which most of the others had in the first couple of weeks and were jealous of her because she only had a sore throat! Lol!

That's all from me for today. Thank you for all your continued visits and comments. I appreciate each and every one of them:) I have got back into blog reading and commenting at long last and hope to keep up with it now.

Take care everyone.

Three Finishes and A New Start!

As promised here I am with not only my finish of LHN Hen Party but also BBD Beyond My Heart plus my Christmas ornament for March!

So first up is my Hen Party finish (don’t forget to enter my draw to win the chart in my previous post!).

Little House Needleworks Hen Party

DMC and Crescent Colours

Started 28th February 2009

Finished 14th March 2009

I’m not sure how I’m going to finish this up as yet but it’ll either be as it is on the chart or a pinkeep. Thank you so much Lizzy for sending me the chart and threads in my prize package. I loved stitching this.

Sunday evening I was determined to get BBD Beyond My Heart finished but as I was stitching the border on the right hand side I discovered I’d made a mistake on one of the flower stems and had no choice but to rip it out as the border would not go right! So Monday I unpicked what I had to, re-stitched it and finished the border! So no BP stitching for me Monday this week! There are a few mistakes on it plus I shamelessly stole Christine's idea if stitching big cross stitches instead of eyelets on the baskets! I can never get a good picture of this but I think if you click on it it should be clearer.

Finished 16th March 2009

Here are some close-up pics of the top and bottom.

Last of the finishes for now is my Christmas ornament for March which I love. I bought this over a year ago and hadn’t got it stitched so I thought it was time I did it!

I forgot to show my progress on HAED QS Girly Gothic and here we are it’s Wednesday again and I shall be stitching on this again tonight! If you have not had a look yet pop on over to the Our Friends HAED SAL blog where there are many wonderful HAED designs being stitched on. I joined the blog a few weeks ago and it’s a fantastic place to whip up some extra enthusiasm to keep on stitching on HAEDs! Believe it or not one afternoon last week I actually got Guardian (my HAED BAP) out of the draw to see if I could sort something for the metallic stitches. I know that if I carry on using metallic thread I will never stitch on it, as there is loads, so I am subbing it for DMC 3865 and as the metallic I have already stitched can’t be unpicked without making an awful mess I am stitching over it and it looks OK. It may be a while before I actually get back to it properly but I will one day!

Last night I decided to have a new start. I wasn’t actually planning on starting it until Sunday but I wasn’t in the mood for picking up Bea or the Halloween ornament I’d made a small start on so I sorted some threads and fabby for Midnight Stitching Quaker Faith Hope Love and made a small start on that. I am stitching it on 40 count white fabric (I have never used it before but it’s lovely to stitch on). I couldn’t decide whether to stitch it monochrome or using three colours so with Abi’s help we came up with three colours, two Carrie’s Creations and one Victorian Motto! The one you see in the photo is Carrie’s Creations Cherry Popsicle!

Time for me to go now and try and caught up on blogs. Thank you to everyone that left good wishes for my blood tests and scan. They are much appreciated. Blood tests are over with now so just waiting for the results which should be back at the end of the week or beginning of next week then I just have to wait for the scan.

Take care everyone.

Hugs

PS Hmmm my blog does not seem to be showing as updated in Google Reader. I hope you'll all still manage to find me! ETA It seems to be fixed now. Must have been a bit of a glitch.
