A Sweet Little Finish

I was catching up on blogs yesterday when I came across the most sweet little freebie design. I immediately printed it out, sorted fabric and the suggested threads and set about stitching it. I had it finished before I went to bed so this morning I brought my sewing machine downstairs and got it sewn up. Here's my finished piece.

Unknown fabric scrap

Started & finished 2nd February 2012

I just love the simplicity of this design.

The only other thing I have to show you is my progress on L*K 6 Fat Men Snow House from Tuesday evening with Lisa:) I finished the house and made a start on the snow:)
Tonight I should be stitching on BBD AotH Swan Lake but I'm having a new start instead! Yes I know I should really be getting on with my AotH but this other piece is really calling to me. I may get Swan Lake out tomorrow evening. We have an amber warning for snow tomorrow afternoon so I think an afternoon stitching and relaxing may be in order then Sunday morning out with my camera if the forecast is right!

I have a teeny confession to make and it's all thanks to Isabella of The Primitive Hare! Isabella is the designer of The Christmas Carol Sock which I stitched late last year and I get update emails from her every now and then. This morning there was one about a contest and a beautiful design to stitch for it. I could not resist so sent an email to purchase the chart. It was only 3.50 euros and even though I really shouldn't have it's not like I'm spending a fortune. Yes it's a small slip up on my stitching from stash but it's a lovely piece and the contest prize is a 50 euro certificate for Casa Cenina. Do pop on over to The Primitive Hare blog if you have not already seen it. Isabella has some lovely designs for sale as well as some lovely freebies. Just click on the picture in my side bar:)

We woke up to our first snow fall of Winter this morning and what a lovely sight it was. It's been bitterly cold but really nice. I've been longing for snow all Winter so very happy to finally see some :)

I'm going to sort my fabric and threads for my new start and will be back another day to show what it is!

Take care and stay warm if you have chilly temps and snow.

Until next time........keep stitching!

Much love

Sally

What a beautiful little finish! Love the WIP too. You deserve to spend a little bit of money, especially on something fun like this pattern and contest!

Congratulations on the quick finish! It would've probably taken me several days to stitch that. You are my idol ... lol! I'm still plugging away at that January Word Play ... sigh! Blessings, Shirlee

Just printed that one off yesterday! You rock! I love the simplicity as well. I don't think I have seen one of her designs that I haven't liked!

Casa Cenina is a wonderful store and it would be good to win a voucher to spend so I think your purchase was totally justifiable.

Please keep the snow up with you, we are freezing down here.

Wishing you a good weekend xxx

Gorgeous finish Sally and lovely update of your snowmen.
Good luck with the competition stitching - I won't mention the falling off the wagon!
As you like the snow so much you can keep our share as we don't want it.

Sally, I love "Snow Drop!" That truly IS a simple, adorable little design, and the unknown fabric does it justice. If I'm not mistaken, there really is a little flower named a Snow Drop that can come up in snow.

As for 6 Fat Men, a girl in a Yahoo group saw the charts on my wish list and has finished with them and is sending them to me from Belgium! I'm sending something in trade to her, of course, but I've admired these little fellows long enough, and I see you have too.

I love that you confessed a little indescretion, LOL! That's OK... life is too short not to enjoy new stash once in a while. My LNS has a Super Bowl sale tomorrow, and I'm going, but just to buy threads and fabric only (I hope!). Wish me luck!

Yes, you are right, it's a very beautiful design. I love snowdrops and I'm already longing for seeing the first coming out of the ground. But with the extreme cold we have at the moment I dobt if it will be so soon.
I'm very curious to see what your new project is.

What a sweet finish Sally! Perfect for this time of year. Did you get much snow? We had the rain instead of the snow yesterday but given all the news reports I must admit I'm quite glad we missed it! A little snow is fine but seems like alot of it was falling!

What a sweet finish! Love the WIP, too. Good for you on giving yourself a little treat--after all, should you win, that's just an investment that'd have a very nice dividend! ;)

That is indeed a sweet snowdrop design. Your pillow finishing makes it all the sweeter. Snow House is progressing beautifully too.

What an adorable finish Sally!

I saw that! I'd say that's okay...rules are meant to be bent 'a little' because really, if you won, you'd be better off in the long run and save money ;o) LOL!
