Fabric Dilemma!

I think I am just about decided on my MM&I Neighbourhood SAL apart from a little tweaking here and there. I would, however, like to ask your advice about fabric! I am thinking about using Polstitches 32 count evenweave for this but I'm going to need quite a large piece and don't want to end up wishing I hadn't picked a particular colour. These are the two I have in mind.
Nature's Grace ( I stitched LHN Winter Wonderland on this)

Stormy Skies

Or should I go with a plain fabric rather than hand dyed? Baring in mind that my neighbourhood is going to be a Winter theme. I'd really appreciate your input ( I've also posted this to the MM&I 2 blog:)
Thanks you:) {{{{hugs}}}}

Hi Sally

My opinion is not going to help in the slightest LOL

I love both pieces of fabric but if you are doing a winter theme I would have said a nice ice blue maybe opalescent would look good.

Good luck with whatever you decide :)

I would say if there is a lot of snow it might stand out better on Natures grace, polstitches have a fabric viewer you could try and see if there are any winter designs and try them out

Hi, Sally,

I love the look of the LHN piece on Nature's Grace - though the picture with this post shows it more of a green. I think the Stormy Skies would look even better. Can't wait to see what you decide.

For a winter theme Sally, I'd go with the Stormy Skies.

I think I'd go with the blue for a winter theme... green makes me think of Spring :)

Your PIF is finally heading out today! Hope you like it!

I like Stormy skies too but agree that a more ice blue colour might be nice for a winter theme. My piece of Nature's Grace isn't so green as yours looks but I still think it looks like spring

I like them both LOL

The LHN looks great on Nature's Grace but my personal choice would be the blue for a whole neighbourhood - much more wintry looking. But you're the one who has to stitch it, so go for what you like Sally. :0)

I find the easiest way to decide is to post a picture of the fabric onto "Word" then post a picture of the design over the top. If you are not sure how to do please email me the links or pictures and I'll do and post them back.

Hope that made sense - good luck.

I'd go with the blue one Sally, or Silkweaver do one in shades of grey on opalescent (can't remember the name unfortunately)

well they both look quite summery to me Sally (sorry). The trouble is as we all know colours do not always show well on the computer and can also vary from screen to screen so that may just be the interpretation that I am getting. I do think you need an icy blue or even a very light dove grey type of shade to look like wintery skies behind your scene. I hope that helps a bit.

Sally,
Personally I would pick stormy skies because it will go well with your theme.

I'm liking the idea of the blue best Sally especially if there is going to be lots of snow.

I'm afraid that I like them both too....! Can't wait to see which one you choose Sally :o)

While i love them both if you're looking for a wintery theme then I too think you need an icy looking blue or grey and maybe consider an opalescent. I'm glad your neighbours have gone and fingers crossed the new ones will be a lot better :)

Hi Sally

If it's a winter theme I'd go for the Stormy Skies, it's great for snow. but then again it all depends on what you are putting on it.

Nice progress in your earlier post, and I'm so glad to hear about your neighbors moving. I'll keep my fingers crossed your new neighbors are much better, it must be so nice to be able to get some sleep again. As to the color of the fabric, between the two I think I'd go with the blue as it looks more wintery to me.
