Happiness......

Begins with one little stitch as My Big Toe Designs says and if it wasn't for my stitching ( and a bit of knitting) over the last few weeks I think I'd have been tearing my hair out. It's been a week since my last blog post as I just haven't felt like posting so here's a few finishes.

My Big Toe Designs Happiness

32 count Kiwi Illusions Silver Birch

GAST

Started 6th June 2012

Finished 17th June 2012

I loved stitching this one and am, hopefully, going to mount it into the top on the DMC box I bought with my birthday money the year before last.

I finished my June ornament for the Christmas All Year Round SAL. We had a free choice this month so this is the one I chose.

Plum Street Samplers Yuletide

32 count cobblestone linen

GAST & DMC

Started 12th June 2012

Finished 21st June 2012

This one doesn't look quite right as bits of are stitched upside down but it will be a pouch for a Just Nan Sheep Winder once I get around to making it up.

Just Nan Christmas Sheep

28 count Polstitches Sky High evenweave

DMC & GAST

Started 9th June 2012

Finished 24th June 2012

Final finish is my SAL with Barb.

Shepherd's Bush Elizabethan pincushion ( kit)

Started 4th June 2012

Finished 25th June 2012

I have had two other finishes and two starts but I can't show those as they are exchange pieces or gifts.

So the only WIP I can show is my SAL with Mouse of LHN A Stitcher's Heart. Loving how this looks.

I have some charts for sale at the moment if you would like to have a look. These are all ones that I have stitched in the past few weeks other than a couple that were already on the page and those I have reduced a little.

This is my progress on the Crest of a Wave Baktus. I'm halfway there so started the decreasing now.

Personal stuff now so if you want to stop reading please do :) After 10 months without a period I started last Wednesday. To say I was not a happy bunny is a huge understatement! I cried :( I know that is silly as it's not the end of the world and there are people in this world going through horrible things but I just didn't need it and I had settled to the fact that I was going to have no more. Two more months and I'd have been classed as being done with it.

Yesterday I had my post surgery appointment at the hospital. I didn't see the consultant who had done my surgery but I did see one of the doctors I had seen whilst I was in hospital so at least it was a familiar face. I told him about still feeling uncomfortable and how worried I was. However he did say it was still early days yet and it takes time for things to settle. He examined me and said that everything looked as it should, no signs of infection or stitches having come apart but I have another appointment for 3 months time. It did put my mind at ease a little but at the back of my mind I am still wondering if I'll ever feel any different. I know I must think positive! I forgot to ask what I can and can't do now so just going to build myself steadily with some light housework and no lifting still.

I do apologise for still not being back to visiting and commenting on your blogs properly. I have been commenting on a few but I really need to get back to visiting all the ones I usually do. I miss seeing what you are all stitching.

Thank you for all your lovely comments and for continuing to visit me :)

With much love

Sally

Hi Sally! I was just thinking of you yesterday. I am sorry to hear you don't feel even better. I will pray for you. I love Happiness and the Christmas Sheep are just adorable. :)

Wow, so many finishes Sally, you've been very busy. I'm so pleased you are managing to get so much done (stitching wise!) while you recuperate. Yuletide is my favourite finish, although the Just Nan Sheep is looking really cute! I look forward to seeing how you finish it.

I'm glad your appointment went well! Healing takes time. You are right ... you need to think positively. I am thinking positively for you as well : ) Your stitchings are wonderful (I've sent you an email) & your baktus is looking great! Believe it or not I have a good start on my shawl after what turned out to be my third go at it ... lol! I will post a photo today on my blog : )

What beautiful finishes! Lovely WIP as well. And the knitting is gorgeous. Sorry about your period -- what a bummer that you haven't stopped after all. Glad your doctor appointment was reassuring. I hope things improve for you and start feeling like the surgery did the trick for you. Hang in there.

Hugs, Sally...I know it's been a long road, but healing does take time...and patience while it is ocurring is a virtue :) It took me 6 months to feel like myself again, after mine, and I know at this point in reading my comment you are saying "Why are you telling me this, Ma!" but...you need to give yourself time to heal both physically and emotionally from the whole trauma of the it all...Hugs and kisses kiddo, as you only get once chance to heal properly.
Your stitching is gorgeous, as always, and since I have "Yuletide" in my stash, you have given me the push to stitch it up. :)
Your finishes are just beautiful.
Hang in there and know that it will all be ok...very soon you will be able to do more and more up and about without that overwhelming fatigue, and each day will bring feelings of success. :)
As for the period...this could just be your bodies odd way of dealing with the stress, and gramma menopause is just around the corner...and she is a beautiful thing, you'll adore it...again, patience, my dear.
Hugs
Ma

Hi Sally!

Your stitching is beautiful!! You've gotten so much accomplished while you've been recovering. Good for you! The Just Nan sheep one is just too cute!!!

I'm sorry things are still uncomfortable physically. It's hard to deal with even small irritations when we are physically drained. I'll pray for patience for you!

Keep getting better! : )

Wonderful finishes, Sally and I love your stitching WIP and your knitting WIP, too!

I hope you feel better and better everyday and that the doctor's reassurance that things are looking good, and as are they should be, helps you relax.

Great finishes Sally, I love the PSS ornament. I have to ask, what excactly IS at baktus? It looks like a shawl, is that right?
Glad the doctor thinks things are going according to plan and I hope you start to feel an improvement soon.
Sorry about your return visitor. I'm getting periods AND hot flushes these days which strikes me as grossly unfair!

Sally your stitching is lovely! I'm glad you're feeling like doing that and the knitting. I had the same thing happen to me with my periods so I know how disappointed you are. I just couldn't believe it when it happened as I was sure I was done with them!!! Glad that you'd a good report at the hospital and it's good that you'll be seen again in 3 months, nice to have that reassurance. Look after yourself!

Lovely stitching Sally!!!!!!
It took me a good 6 months to "feel" like myself after my surgery. Surgery is an assault and it takes time and remember everyone heals at a different pace!!!!!!!

Hey Sally!

Keeping you in my thoughts as you continue to heal.

I always enjoy seeing what you're working on - you make such wonderful selections with pattern, fabric and fibers. The yarn you're knitting with it gorgeous too, really suits the project!

You must be greatly relieved to hear your doctor say your recovery is on track. Give yourself permission to heal slowly and well. Hugs!

There's some great stitching going on here!
I love all these smalls.

And as everyone has said, take your time to get well properly.
It took me months (years?) to get over the birth of my last baby but I got there in the end, your body will heal if you let it.

Sending healing thoughts and many hugs! Don't push yourself.
As always, your projects a lovely. Isn't it wonderful that we have our stitching to get lost in? Love that scarf ~ the style and the color!

Sally, your stitching is as fantastic as usual. Whenever I come to your blog I know that I will see beautiful things. Congrats on the lovely finishes and on the progress on your WIPs.
Your recovery seems to go steady and I hope that you will feel better and better and can do more and more with the time.

Lovely finishes Sally. I am glad to hear your recovery is coming along well if a bit slower than you would like.

Lovely stitching Sally. I can't wait to see what you make with the PPS's Yuletide. It's a design I could easily stitch again. Your scarf is coming along beautifully too. I'm always in awe of those who can follow a pattern and not drop stitches (like me!)

So sorry to hear you are feeling blue Sally. It is very hard to feel yourself post-operation because you can't do the things you could normally do before. Have faith and take the time to heal. There will be many ups and downs but I hope there will be more ups for you. Sending hugs and prayers for you.
