Some Proper Finishing!

My sewing machine has been working overtime so I actually have some finishing up done. I can't show all of them though as two of them are winging their way somewhere as I type so will show them once I know they've arrived safely at their destinations.

First proper finish is Shepherd's Bush Feed My Sheep. I just did a simple finish with a bow on the top. I put this one with my little collection of sheep :)
Next one is another simple finish for The Sampler Girl Jane Austen Winter. I added a ribbon for hanging and a couple of Mill Hill Snowflake Treasures. This will hang on my Sampler Girl on my stairs:)

Last one I can show is Shepherd's Bush Merry Be. I have to say that I LOVE how this turned out. I certainly don't want to put it away and not bring it out until next Christmas.
I finished the stitching on my January ornament for the Christmas All Year Round SAL. I really love this one and am so glad that I chose it.

Sisters & Best Friends Believe ( JCS Ornament mag 2000)

Unknown fabric ( think it's 28 count Polstitches)

GAST and Carrie's Creations

Started 15th January 2012

Finished 28th January 2012

I had chosen my next one but changed my mind and am now going to stitch this one from The Cat's Whiskers.

Friday evening I made a start on the next BBD Aoth Swan Lake. I'm using DMC for this as I didn't have enough of the GAST. I wasn't sure I was going to like this one but I really like how it's stitching up.
Finally last night was SAL night with Barb and Colleen and we went to Barb's cosy abode where we had tea, coffee cake and choccie biscuits. ( virtually but oh how wonderful it would be to do it for real :) ). I had a small new start of the SB 2011 Fob. The piccie is a little blurred as I took it in a hurry this morning before I went to craft club. I think this will be my last small SB for a while I fancy something a bit bigger for my next one.

I can't believe it's February tomorrow. Where did January go and where is the snow??? We have had a mild Winter so far but it looks as though February might be the big chill. I long for some snow! So as it's the last day of January I have survived my first month stitching from my chart stash ( yay me!). One down, five to go!!! I have to admit that late last week I was close to caving  but I stayed strong as I'm determined not to let myself down! I do it too often.

That's all for this time. I really need to spend some time catching up on blogs in the next few days to see what you've all been stitching:) Thank you all your lovely wonderful comments on my last post and for visiting me:)

Until next time......... keep stitching!

Much love

Sally

Oh Sally! Your finishes & starts are gorgeous! I really need to get out of this stitching funk I've been in for the past few days. I don't know where my motivation is but I may need to call in the authorities to help me look for it! And I'm with you on the snow issue. It's going to be 61F here today! Ugh! Blessings, Shirlee

You've been so busy, Sally! I just love all your finishes. I worked on my SB piece yesterday for just a few minutes, thinking the linen wouldn't bother me. Well, it still did, my hands were itchy all night. And to top it off, I stitched the entire motif in the the wrong color! The difference between little dots and big dots on the chart. Grrrr. I think I'll start it over on some evenweave next week!!

Have a wonderful week!

Tricia

No worries about snow here! Except for a few cold nights the weather has been warm & sunny! Gotta love Florida in the winter!

I love all your finishes Sally and I can see why you wouldn't want to put that stocking one away.

We had some snow here today, apparently quite heavy around morning play as they weren't allowed out. I didn't notice as I was at craft class.

Fantastic finishing and stitching, Sally! You did such a great job with the finishing--lovely work! Good for you, sticking to the no stash rule, too! Next month will be hard with Market--I'm dreading it but so excited at the same time! LOL

Lovely finishes Sally! I say keep Merry Be out. It's such a cute piece. I've still mine out, when it came to putting all the Christmas stuff away I decided that I didn't want to have it out of sight until next Christmas!

Sally, you want snow... I've got plenty of it... oh look its snowing right now. Yay, another treacherous drive home tonight! Sadly I live in a part of the world that dosen't ground to a halt when it snows. Infact we all go to work when most people in other parts of the world would stay home and hide. Its been a rough winter its either been snowing or mild enough for freezing rain... oh yeah they're calling for that tonight, joy more treacherous driving in the morning. Whenever I hear someone wishing for snow I wish they would come fill in my winter boots for a season and they'd change their minds.

Anyhow I digress...

What beautiful finshes you have and your new projects are coming along beautifully!

Yay, you ! Stitching form your chart stash-- 1 down--only 11 to go. I bet the first month is the hardest.

Congrats on all the lovely stitching and finishing!!!!!

You've gotten a lot of stitching and your finishes are perfect. I love the ribbon trim on the one!

I'm with you on the snow! Where is it for goodness sakes? We had a few inches on Sunday - enough to look so pretty. But today it's 50 and it's almost gone. I think that we need a really good one - so that I don't go out and just stay in the house and stitch!!

You sure have been busy, Sally--I love each and every one!

Isn't it odd that the whole world seems to be experiencing such a warm winter--no complaints from me! It is so, so easy to get around without snow and ice on the roads.
