Whole Lot of Stitching Going On

Hello from a rather hot England. In fact ( and please don't shout at me!) it is just too hot! Thankfully here on the north east coast it is not as hot as it is down south but it's uncomfortable enough for me. I actually feel unwell today so just want it a bit cooler now. It is lovely to see the sun but I'd love it about 5 degrees c cooler than it is here now. I thank God for the sea breeze!

So, for all it has been so hot, I have been getting some stitching done. I have no finishes to show as I don't have any but I have had a new start and have made some decisions about all the HAEDs I have on the go!

So first up is my little bit of progress on the Little House Needleworks Song of the Seasons mystery which I'm stitching along with Barb. I love this so far. Still waiting for the next sheep *sigh* lol!

I seem to have done really well on HAED QS Spirit of Winter Robin. Last night I was still stitching away at 11.30 pm. Big mistake as I feel so tired today! Doesn't he look gorgeous?!

LHN's Curly Q Ewe, my SAL with Lainey and Mouse,  is coming along nicely. Look she has a head, hands and feet now!

My new start is my July ornament for the Christmas All Year Round SAL. I chose LHN All is Calm. I started this while I was at my friend Gill's for our stitching afternoon yesterday.

Lastly my other HAEDs. I have to admit that I have become rather bored with Guardian at the moment but I don't want to put it away as I know if I do I may well never get it out again. So I think I'm just going to see how I feel and maybe just stitch on it one evening a week for a bit. I did consider finishing the page I'm working on then the next one and calling it a finish but several of my stitching friends said it wouldn't look right and they are right.

My progress on Mini Jolly Old Fellow my SAL with Gill :)

Anyway I have thought all the HAED pieces I am stitching and think I have overdone it! I'm leaving myself little time to stitch on other things and trying to make even just a little progress on all five is impossible for me. So Mini The Forgotten is going away for a while as was Mini Jolly Old Fellow but not sure I can put him away as I'm loving the colours etc so will have to see what I can do. I'm going to continue stitching on Guardian and QS Spirit of Winter Robin in the slots they've been in and bring my SK Dragon's History to an evening slot as that is more doable with it only being 4 pages. Then I'll see how things go!

I bought some ribbon, trims and fabric this week so that I can finish some bits off soon. I am determined to get that pile down over the summer! Last Friday my DH and I were going to Wren to finalise our new kitchen so I asked him if we could pop to a shop in Cottingham that Chris had recommended. They were supposed to close at 5 pm but when we got there at 4.35 pm they'd already closed so I was disappointed. So on Saturday I trawled the internet! I ended up ordering ribbons and trims from Ribbon Oasis and my fabric from Thread Bear.

Speaking of Chris she visited me on Wednesday :) It is always lovely to see her. We sat out in my garden chatting and having a cuppa :)

That's all my stitching news. We have an electrician coming on Monday to sort some sockets etc in the kitchen. I know there's going to be a mess. HELP!

Take care everyone.

With much love

Sally

I am liking Curly Q a lot, wish I could find mine that I started a long while ago.Your Haeds are coming along the Robin is lovely. You must keep stitching the Jolly old fellos- not that long till he arrives again. That cheered everyone up did it not.Oh for the winter!!

Your stitching is looking wonderful, and I have to agree with you - it is just too hot now!

I think you should stitch on what you are enjoying, I think we sometimes forget this is a hobby we do for the enjoyment...I am at the moment a bit stuck on what to work on, part of me wants a new start but I have SO MANY wips already I just don't know what to do for the best.

Have a great weekend x

I don't know how you HAED stitchers do it, so it's kind of nice to know you don't always! :) Of course, we can find many ways to fill up our dance cards no matter what our pattern of choice is. Good luck.

Lovely stitching Sally . The robin is looking amazing..
I'm not good at doing lots of project either,at the moment I'm just stitching on one HAED , and I have an absolute pile of kits and charts to do . Still , as long as you enjoy what you are stitching , I guess it doesn't matter.
So glad you're going to continue with Guardian though , it is a stunning piece and will be a real achievement to look at with pride .XXX
I've heard the weather is
supposed to get cooler next week. Here's hoping .x

All of your stitching is lovely! How exciting to be getting a new kitchen. I am with you on the heat. It has been high 90's with 75% humidity here. It has been terrible! I I hope it cools down for you soon.

Wow Sally, all your progress look great and it is nice to have friends stitching along side you too. That does help to motivate to get them done.
Good progress.

Lovely update Sally, especially like Curly Q & Winters Robin - he is so lifelike.
You might get some respite from the heat today - I've woken to rain this morning so it cold be a little fresher out there.

Beautiful stitching Sally - enjoy your new kitchen xx

It's also very hot here. I often have to put my feet into a bucket with cold water - very refreshing. I just have to be careful that my book or stitching doesn't fall into the water, lol.
Great progress pictures!

Your wips are looking gorgeous, great progress

It has been too hot on the plus side I think the weather is supposed to break next week. Typically the first day of the summer holidays :/

How exciting to be getting a new kitchen, Sally--just remember the mess will all be worth it when it is complete :)

Love all of your projects--especially that robin!

Great news about your kitchen, even though things will be noisy and messy for awhile, it'll be worth it in the end. Your WIP's are great and I think you made a good decision with your HAED's. They do require lots of time and devotion. I need to pull out mine and start working on her again!!

Guardian is such an awesome piece, and you've put so much time into it, I'm glad you're not putting it away totally where it might not come out again. If you just do a little here and there it will add up and keep moving forward. Love the Winter Robin, the colors are so pretty.

I know exactly what you mean about the HEAD's I've got a few on the go but have been barely stitching on them. I think it's because we seem to do an awful lot of stitching but not make a lot of progress on them and some days that just seems like to much effort doesn't it? I think you are doing the right thing and giving yourself permission to stitch and enjoy something else for a while alongside the HEAD's you've decided to keep doing will stop it feeling like a chore. All your stitching is beautiful and I'm going to keep cheering you on for any progress on Guardian :)
