Finishes, Progress and Bad People

Well I am here at last with a couple of finishes and some progress. I was intent on blogging on Monday but other things happened which just left me with no heart to do it but I'm feeling a teeny bit easier now so here I am.

Last Saturday was my dear friend and SALing buddy Barb's birthday. Now anyone that knows Barb will know of her love of sheep. So this is what I stitched for her.

The Primitive Hare Awakening

28 count Vintage Country Mocha linen

DMC

Finished into pin cushion and a fob

Birthday gift for Barb.

Can you see the cute little sheep pin in the top of the pincushion? I am so pleased with how these turned out and I'm delighted to say that Barb loves them and the scissors.

And speaking of Barb we have been stitching up a storm on both The Little Stitcher 12 Days of Christmas and Little House Needleworks Little Sheep Virtues Gratitude.

Here is Day 3 finished :)

And here is Gratitude finished :)

I joined Barb and the ladies of Needlecraft Haven in the parlour virtually last night with LHN The North Wind. Now I seem to be having snow issues! I was thinking as I was stitching that I just might have messed up stitching with white as I couldn't remember whether I'd started with white or B5200. Of course it's difficult to tell stitching under artificial light. Guess what. Now I've taken a photo I can tell that I am now using white and I when I started the design I was using B5200! Why didn't I see this last time! Arghhhhhhhhhhhh! I have decided to frog the B5200 as there isn't as much of that!

More snow issues in Lone Elm Lane Snow Angel. I mentioned last time that I was not happy with the colour of the snow and to be honest it's making me not want to continue with this but I most definitely don't want to restart it. The photo makes the snow look much lighter than it is in real life. I wish I'd used white :( I will make myself finish it and see how it looks.

Angela now has a full body :) Just need to add her eyes and mouth next week and do all the white stitching. Love this sweet design.

Finally some progress on March's Daffodill. I had made a mistake on this but I've sorted it. Not frogged it all but it looks right now!

My afghan is going well. The second block on the second strip is finished and I've also managed a little more of the insertion. I didn't go to craft group this week so block 3 isn't started.

An envelope arrived from my dear friend Barb this morning. Look what was inside. This is the gorgeous fabric she has been using to back her 12 Days of Christmas. I had asked her about it but when I wanted to order some I couldn't ( don't want to tell the whole story on here but I will just say there are some bad people out there who like to steal your details ). Barb was ordering more for herself and as they had very little left she bought me some too. Thank you so much Barb, that is is so sweet of you {{hugs}}. I'm planning on getting some finishing done either this weekend or next week.

Barb this is for you :) Taken by me :)

Stitch from Stash is still going well. Since the last report I've spent £1.60 on 2 DMC threads that I had run out of. My proper report and email to Mel will be done next week but so far I'm feeling very proud of myself. OK it's only 2 months but I haven't even been tempted. Usually after just a couple of weeks I'm rocking in a corner desperate for new charts! There are some lovely new things from Nashville Market but I'm still going to be good :) I keep thinking of all the lovely charts I have in my stash to stitch and that keeps me on the straight and narrow!

The weather over here appears to have calmed down. We've had a couple of sunny days up here but oh boy I am so not ready for double figure temperatures! We haven't had a proper winter yet!

Fingers crossed I will be back after the weekend with some finished finishes!

Take care everyone.

With much love

Sally xxxx

I love that finish you stitched for Barb, what a sweet gift :) And that fabric she sent you, very cool!

Way to go on the SFS! this month I spent a total of $10 the offical report and email will be given to MEL on Sunday. I have not been tempted either, nothing has really caught my eye probably because of all the great things I already have in my stash.

Enjoy that sunny weather and have a great Thursday

Wonderful stitching, Sally! And good for you keeping up with SFS so well! I just started working on a WIP last night and realized I needed some DMC for it, so I'm actually going to have to spend some money! LOL!!

Happy stitching!

Tricia

Sally, such great finishes and what a wonderful gift for Barb's birthday. I do love The Snowflower Diaries designs and also the ones of Cottage Garden Samplings. Two great new designers, I think.
Congratulations on doing great on the SFS challenge again. And you are so right - there is so much in our stash that we dearly love and that we want to stitch immediately.

More beautiful stitching. I saw the lovely gift you made for Barb on her blog, the finishing is delightful. Sorry about your snow mix up with thread. I think we have all done something similar at one time.

You're doing fantastic Sally on your SFS resolution! I love that you haven't even been tempted.

Great finishes! I always struggle with stitching with white. Hard to see to stitch and sometimes it doesn't show up well on fabric.

Lovely stitching as always! I'm sorry you had a bad experience. It always amazes me that some people just have no conscience at all. Scary.

Great Sheep piece/set! The heart charm AND the sheep pin (I have those!) really make it personalized for Barb--I am glad she loves them! That is lovely fabric too! I am on track stitching from stash too, tho I am not in the official club! I had to buy some threads so I have spent less than $5 so far. No reports, just sayin...

Well done on SFS! Your birthday gifts for Barb are lovely, and how kind of her to send you that gorgeous fabric. I love March's daffodils, I think daffodils are my favourite flowers. I haven't seen all of these charts yet, just keep following your progress on your blog!

Lovely stitching progress Sally, I love the fabric Angela is stitched on. Great gifts for Barb, the sheep pin is fab. Love the fabric for backing your 12 Days of Christmas. Great resolve on SFS - I took advantage of the splurge to top up supplies for the Garden Journal patterns.

Lovely stitching, well done on your shop free time, I thought it was a good idea, and then purchased a chart the following week. But I am on a mission to use some of my stash, and finish off some items.
As for the sunshine, it is great to have a break from rain this week, seeing the sun is a bonus.

Lovely stitching my friend! I have been very lax about posting my progress on Snow Angel. I will have to do so this weekend. Remind me if I forget : ) I'm also not happy with one of the colors I'm using but I'm not going to restart it either. We will know better next time : )

Lovely stitching Sally. I am so sorry to hear that some bad people have gotten to you.
Great job stitching from stash. There are a few things from market that I need to get, just some of the new PS charts.
That backing fabric from Barb is lovely.
I hope that you have a great weekend!

Lovely stitching and knitting Sally. I love the birthday present you stitched for Barb. I've been looking at that design myself, think I might have to stitch it now I've seen yours.
Not sure about the sheep in the photograph you took though, it's the way she is staring, I feel as if she is silently judging me ;D

The little sheep pillows are darling Sally and Barb must be happy to have received them! Beautiful stitching on all counts. Too bad about the white issues...sometimes I have white issues too..not sure why!

Such sweet gifts for Barb and your work on all the pieces is great, Sally. I had to smile at your comment about not wanting double digit temps yet. I would be more than happy to share my "proper winter" with you. It is going to be a long time until the snow melts from my yard.

Such darling finishes and WIPs, Sally--love that photo of the sheep, too! I can't say I've ever gotten up close to a sheep before :) I do hope you can work out your issues with the snow in Snow Angel--it is such a lovely design...
