Progress.....

Is what I have been making on my stitching since my last post. So far this year I have had 5 new starts and 2 of those are finished but I can't show one of them. I have 1 WIP from last year which is almost finished and that is Shores and 1 UFO which I could really do to get back to this year and that is HAED Guardian. My problem with this one is that, as much as I love it, it grows so slowly and is a very long term project. I don't really want to commit to more that one evening a week on it but at that rate I'll be taking it in my coffin with me to finish in the next life!!!! Lol! So I have some serious thinking to do. Maybe commit one evening a week ( UFO night on Needlecraft Haven with Julie and Mr Stick) for now then later on two evenings. I really don't want to take up all my stitching time with larger projects and I already have BBD AotH but those will be like mini happy dances each time one is finished even though my main HD won't be until they're all done! Then I have SB Emmanuel's Song which may not actually take that long even though it looks huge one band at least on a Monday evening is do-able. Anyway I shall see and decide what to do once I get January out of the way:)

So what I have been stitching on? Well Shores of course on Friday and Saturday evening. I really feel that I'm making good progress on this after the little I did over Christmas and New Year. Maybe I can get it finished for the January :) I think I will have to do some serious saving up to get this one framed though!

Monday evening was my SB SAL night with Barb and Colleen. I hope you both got plenty of stitching in although I know Barb has been poorly so get well soon my dear friend. It's amazing how much you can get stitched when you get off the PC and put your mind to it! I love the pastel colours in this so much.

The only other WIPs I can show you is one that I actually planned on starting after the summer holidays to give myself plenty of time to get it stitched and finished without my DH knowing! As it is my plan didn't, well, go to plan and I only started it on Monday afternoon! A few little stitches is all I have but it's a start and it will, hopefully, be finished in time for our 25th wedding anniversary  towards the end of April. After much deliberation last year I finally chose Blue Ribbon Designs Stitched With Love which I plan to personalise with our names etc.

On Sunday I decided to treat myself with some of the money I was given for my birthday to the Blackbird Designs Joyeux Noel booklet. Yes I know I'm on the wagon but as it's birthday money I figure the booklet is a gift from two of the people who gave me money so I am allowed it! Makes sense yes???? Lol! I was so impressed with the Honeysuckle Manor booklet and have seen some lovely things from the Joyeux Noel one that I couldn't resist.

Those of you who are friends with me on Facebook may have seen one of my statuses recently declaring that I am going to stitch from my stash as much as possible this year! Lisa even thought I had lost the plot and, yes, she could well be right! I have many lovely charts in my stash that have been there a while that don't get stitched because I get something new and start that instead ( sound familiar to any of you???) so my idea is to stitch a set amount of charts I already have before I can buy anything else and then only if I really really want something. Of course I will be buying the next 2 AotH charts then I'm trading the 6 I will have with Jane eventually for the other 6! I have yet to decide how many to set myself to stitch.

Before I forget I have added a couple of charts to my for sale/ trade list if you'd like to have a look :) I'll be doing this as and when I finish with charts that I won't stitch again.

Right I am going to catch up on blogs for a bit now before I get on the Wii Fit. I have been trying to get on it every day and also make myself go out for a walk each day too. So far so good this week ( yes I know it's only Wednesday!) although I had to push myself a bit today to get out. My iPod has a pedometer on it so I set that going and off I go with music in my ears. I upload my steps to Nike using iTunes and it's interesting to see just how many  you do.

Take care everyone and where ever you are stay safe.

Love & hugs

Sally

Lovely WIPs Sally! I'm sure you can get Shores done this month, you're so close! Good luck with stitching from your stash; I'm attempting that too and am finding that if I take it a month at a time, it's easier than thinking about doing it for the whole year.

Your wips are looking lovely Sally. I'm sure you can get Shores done this month, that will be a huge happy dance.
Although I don't want to commit to a strict rotation again, I may be able to be persuaded to do a HAED night with you for Guardian/Cabin? hehe Let me know what you think.

Lovely progress on your wips. I am sure you will finish shores by the end of January. Love your new photos on the right hand side. After hearing what you have planned stitchy wise this year I am really looking forward to seeing your progress.

Lovely WIPS Sally. Not heard of the BRD Stitched with Love one - you must let me see a picture of it. I know what you mean about what do you stitch next! I have started on Bruce's Stitch A Photo of his first official school photo - think it will take forever though as every line seems to have a different symbol on it. Take care xx

I think your stitchy plans are great! I understand the lack of desire to spend too much time on your BAP - that is my problem too. I love the Emmanuel's Song so soft and delicate!

I have been using my DD's Wii for the last two weeks, and I really like it - hope I can maintain my interst - LOL!

Sally, it was lovely for you to visit my blog! Thanks for the sweet comment. I've been out of the loop for quite some time, and it's nice to be back and stitching and blogging again.

I visited your blog often while AOL, and I'm always amazed at your stitching! You get so much done in so little time, and you're so imspiring. I find you do things in my stash as well. I was on the wagon for a while, but I caved, knowing that for me, need has nothing to do with it, LOL! I'm going to the grave with tons of stash and leaving it to my daughter to get rid of. Good luck on your commitment!

Lovely WIPs! I don't think spending your birthday money counts as a fal off the wagon. I wish the weather would improve so I can go walking or cycling a little more often, if it keeps on going the way it has been I'll be trading my bike in for a canoe. I have a couple of apps on my iphone that really help me stay motivated

lovely progress on your WIPs Sally and Shores is getting close to a finish. Looking forward to seeing lots of lovely BD from you in the future too.
I wish I could motivate myself to get a bit more exercise, I think I need to invest in a pedometer to start with

Oh my, Sally! You'll be done in no time at all with Shores honey!!! Wooo Hooo! It's gorgeous Hun and I really do need to get the stitching faery to visit and sprinkle a wee bit of stitching mojo dust around me... I am doing better though, so that's a start! I can't wait to see your finished Shores... mine is just sitting there! I have been stitching on CaHRH since Christmas Day though, so that's saying something! And I started AofH on New Year's Day... maybe I can stitch along with you on it... I so love the soft colours in it and it's going to be sooo lovely when finished... your's is sooo Beautiful! Lovely idea for your Anniversary... can't wait to see it! And I do love your Little House Ornament finish... just beautiful! And what an awesome stitchy box! I think "It's a Wonderful Life" will be perfect for it... Can't wait to see how you finish it! And your SB Emmanuel's Song is lovely thus far... It's been snowing here this week... we had about 7 - 8 inches on Monday and ice Monday night and Tuesday morning... so everything came to a standstill here! LOL The cat's and I have been snuggling in my stitching chair trying to stay warm! Do take care Hun and wishing you glad tidings and a warm hearth and many a peaceful stitching hour, my dear friend... Blessings and Love always in stitches...

Great progress Sally, especially on shores! :-)
I know what you mean about wanting to go through stitching your stash before you buy anymore patterns because we tend to start the new ones when we buy them. :-) I am sure we all do that.

Your WiP's are just lovely. And you're right that you treated yourself with a new chart. It's a gift after all. :)

You're getting so close to calling Shores "a finish"! Wonderful work, Sally. And, I'm also "Stitching From Stash" this year, but since my son's gave me a gift cert. to 123 Stitch for Christmas, I will certainly be counting what I select as a gift from them and NOT breaking my resolution :)

Your Wips are looking fab...Emmanuels Song is looking so pretty and delicate.
Have fun with the getting fit...

Great job with the WIPs, Sally! Good luck with stitching from your stash. I realized, while going through my stash for the Crazy challenge, just how much I have--and how much I love it. I am enjoying stitching what I have! Of course, Market is next month and I've heard of things coming out (BBD says they're coming out with bookS and chartS, Shakespeare's Peddler is coming out with an A&E Jenny Bean, etc.) that I know I'll have to have. So,, we'll see how it goes!! LOL

Good for you on the walking. I need to do that, too!

I'm trying to be good this year too Sally and stitch from my stash but I don't know what I'll do when Market arrives because I know I'll be sorely tempted!! I like your idea of stitching so much and then treating yourself to something. You're WIP's are looking great.
